The women at MANTION

To celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March, MANTION was asked to take part in an exhibition called: Women in microtechnology.

Two female members of staff at MANTION were the stars of the show: machine operator Carole Garnier from the assembly workshop and account manager Élodie Hosatte from the sheet metal shaping department.

In parallel with this project – and in partnership with the Campus des Métiers et des Qualifications Microtechniques et Systèmes Intelligents (French training and professional hub of excellence in microtechnology and intelligent systems), the UIMM (French Union of metalworking industries) of the Doubs department, the Prefecture of the Doubs department and the middle school of Salins-les-Bains – a group of middle school pupils visited MANTION’s manufacturing site in Besançon to discover our employees’ professions.

The two projects were closely linked as they served to showcase the careers offered by our industry, let youngsters discover the sector, and show women that their place is here too, as their competencies are equal to that of their male counterparts.

“You need to learn to make your mark and go beyond received ideas. There’s no reason why a woman shouldn’t succeed in the manufacturing sector. You just need to have the drive and be good at what you do.“ C.L
