MANTION FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you determine the type of hangers to use?

The type of hangers is determined by the place of use and the frequency of operation:

  • for outdoor use: preferably use steel / Delrin / nylon-coated rollers;
  • for indoor use: use Delrin rollers;
  • in aggressive environments: use stainless steel;
  • for frequent use: choose a series with 4 ball-bearing rollers.

Do hangers and the rail require maintenance, and how?

Yes, we recommend maintenance at least every 6 months using thick oil or a lubricant. This ensures longer service life and smooth operation.

Can two doors slide on the same rail?

Yes. In that case, use the weight of a single door to determine the choice of hangers and rail.

When designing a sliding door, should external factors be taken into account?

Yes, it is essential to consider external factors such as wind. A door exposed to wind is more difficult to operate. In this case, choose a higher load capacity.

Rain also significantly increases the weight of wooden doors. Here again, a higher load capacity should be chosen.

How do you stop a sliding door?

The best solution is to use door stops placed at mid-height for lightweight doors, and double stops (one at the top, one at the bottom) for heavy doors.

Under no circumstances should a screw be inserted through the rail, as this damages the hangers and leads to rapid wear.

How many hangers should be used on a sliding door?

The recommended number is 2. This provides greater stability and optimal load distribution, ensuring proper operation. Never install 3 hangers on the same panel.

Where should the hangers be positioned in relation to the ends of the door?

We recommend fixing the hangers at approximately 1/10 of the panel width from each end.

Can the rail be welded to a support?

Welding galvanised or black rails is strictly prohibited. Welding creates internal stresses and deformation, leading to rapid wear of the hangers.

Should a suspended sliding door be guided at floor level?

Yes, it is essential to provide floor guidance. This ensures smooth and efficient operation.

How do you align several rails?

Connection sleeves must be used. Support sleeves are recommended as they ensure perfect alignment without offset thanks to support screws, prevent excessive bending, and reinforce the assembly.

What is the main factor to consider when creating a straight sliding door (1 panel)?

The most important factor is the weight of the door.

What is the maximum spacing between two supports (SPORTUB range)?

The maximum spacing is 0.70 m in the standard version.
